Our Story - Beginnings
Written by Sharon Clack (Founder/President of the LoVE Organization)

.......Lily purchased a 200 acre farm and a journey began to rehabilitate an entire community, that of Mophela. There are farming projects (or agricultural tunnels), which not only help towards sustainability for the orphanage, but also encourage local enterprise. A bakery, shop, computer school, bead project, sewing, building and brick making among many other endeavors help to support this area of 90% unemployment. An amphitheatre has been built for the gathering of the community. The possibilities are endless.

Building on the success at Lily of the Valley Children’s Village, we ventured, with God’s direction, into ‘planting’ more Lilies. Partially an existing institution, Makaphutu, about 50 miles from Lily had to be rebuilt in every sense. In July 2006, this work began and modeled on Lily 1, this has become an amazing place. As with Lily, there is outreach into the surrounding community, the exquisitely beautiful Valley of a Thousand Hills yet known also as the Valley of Despair. In this area, 150,000 people suffer from AIDS (without medication) and live in abject poverty and hunger.

Lily of the Valley Endeavor continues to grow with much expansion in the medical field (see Clinic), food distribution, sponsorship and education. Always our directive to care for widows and orphans, remains a priority as we serve many thousands of people. We value every partnership, new, old and yet to come, and thank you for making a difference. Every effort, large and small is much appreciated.

There really ‘is a way’!
